The product that changed the conversation is the AVAA C20, an analog active bass trap. Since its 2016 release it has earned a reputation as the secret weapon of acoustic treatment: it typically cuts the resonance time of every room mode between 15 Hz and 150 Hz by up to 50%, and it is as effective as a perfect passive absorber up to 25 times its size. Whether a room has one problem mode or five, the AVAA works on all of them at once.

It is 100% analog with no DSP, so processing is zero-latency, and it only absorbs, no signal is ever emitted back into the room. There is no calibration, no measurement software, and no setup ritual: place it where the modes build up and it goes to work. It is also portable, so it can move between a listening room, a media room, and a mixing space. The newer AVAA C214 brings the same idea to a digitally controlled platform.
