Meitner Audio is the more accessible expression of Ed Meitner's engineering, the same designer whose EMM Labs converters became the reference standard in mastering studios worldwide. Everything is designed and manufactured in Canada, and the technology inside a Meitner component is drawn directly from the flagship EMM Labs line rather than borrowed from off-the-shelf chipsets.

We sell one Meitner product, and it is the only one most systems need: the MA3i Integrated D/A Converter. The MA3i is the next evolution of the multi-award-winning MA3, combining a DAC, a fully transparent digital preamplifier, and a high-resolution network streamer in a single chassis that connects straight to your amplifier and speakers.

At its core is the next generation 16xDSD MDAC2 fully discrete, single-bit D-to-A converter paired with the updated MDAT2 DSP, which performs real-time transient detection and up-conversion of every incoming signal for unusual clarity and precision. The latest generation VControl volume system, inherited from the EMM Labs DV2i, gives an expansive range of level control with no loss of resolution at any listening volume. The MFAST frequency acquisition protocol and new MCLK3 asynchronous clock push jitter to industry-defying levels, while redesigned input and power isolation, including galvanic isolation on both USB and network, keeps computer and router noise out of the music.

The onboard streaming platform is genuinely current: TIDAL and TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Spotify, Deezer, and vTuner, plus UPnP/DLNA for NAS libraries, Roon Ready endpoint operation, and direct USB file playback. It supports DSD128/2xDSD, DXD, and MQA, so existing libraries and streaming subscriptions both play at full resolution.

Because the MA3i replaces a separate DAC, preamplifier, and streamer, it simplifies a reference system down to source, amplifier, and speakers, which is often the difference between a rack of boxes and a room a family actually wants to sit in.
